The Army School of Logistics (ASL) conducts Quartermasters Commissioning Courses for Warrant Officers. Initially the ASL conducted only the logistics package of the course curriculum. Since the year 2021 the course participants were granted the opportunity to complete all packages of the course.
The opening remarks of the Quartermasters Commissioning Course No 6 was delivered by the Commandant, Brig HAM Premarathne psc Lsc on 09 October 2023. The course is comprised of a total of 85 Warrant Officers of SL Army.
In the opening remarks, the Commandant explained the importance of learning logistics for Warrant Officers for improvement of their future military career as Quartermasters. As per the course curriculum included the existing theories/practices of logistics procedures and a study package of English language with IT.
Thereafter, the Chief Instructor, Col GTS Silva USP QLCO Lsc ato proceeded with the course briefing that included the description of the course curriculum and the scheduled activities for the upcoming period. Followed by the introductory remarks on Administration functions in ASL and their significance for the course delivered by the Staff Officer I (A/Q) Lt Col AMGB Abeysinghe.
The Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, members of the Faculty, members of the Permanent Staff and the SNCOs of the school participated in the inaugural event.
On the opening day, the course participants attended for the Camp Visit, Opening Gambit and received the religious blessings at the Gokanna Temple and Koneshwaram Temple at Trincomalee.
