The Army School of Logistics (ASL) ceremoniously bade farewell to its esteemed eleventh Commandant, Brigadier RT Lokuthotahewa USP psc, on 14 December 2025, in recognition of his distinguished service and leadership during his tenure at the helm of the institution. The tenure of Brigadier Roshan Lokuthotahewa USP psc has been marked by steadfast commitment to the professional development of logisticians, enhancement of academic standards and the continued strengthening of the Army’s logistics training capabilities.
The farewell commenced with a guard turnout at the School entrance. The Guard Turnout reflected the deep respect and high regard in which Brigadier RT Lokuthotahewa USP psc is held by all members of the ASL community.
A highlight of the occasion was the formal opening of the new Training Branch Office Complex, a key infrastructure enhancement that underscores ASL’s ongoing commitment to providing modern and effective training facilities for its personnel. The construction of this facility stands as a lasting legacy of Brigadier Lokuthotahewa’s leadership and vision in advancing institutional capacity.
Following the inauguration, Brigadier Roshan Lokuthotahewa USP PSC delivered an inspirational troop address, during which he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Instructor, Faculty members and permanent staff for their unwavering support and dedication throughout his tenure. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, continuous learning and the pivotal role of logistics in supporting operational readiness and mission success.
In keeping with tradition, an All Ranks Tea was hosted, providing an informal forum for Officers and Other Ranks to pay tribute to the Commandant. This gathering celebrated his contributions and offered subordinates the opportunity to extend personal well wishes ahead of his departure.
The formal segment of the farewell concluded with a Farewell Lunch, attended by Faculty members and permanent staff. During the luncheon, the Chief Instructor Colonel MSR Mohamed Lsc delivered tributes acknowledging the outgoing Commandant’s achievements, leadership qualities and the positive impact he made on the ASL.
At the conclusion of the event, Brigadier Roshan Lokuthotahewa USP psc formally departed from the School, receiving heartfelt farewells from all ranks, marking the end of a distinguished chapter in the ASL’s history.
