VIJAYABAHU INFANTRY SEMINAR 2025 HELD AT VIR HEADQUARTERS

The Vijayabahu Infantry Seminar – 2025 was conducted at the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) Headquarters in Boyagane on 22 November 2025, under the patronage of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army.

The visiting Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by Colonel of the Regiment of VIR along with senior officers of the Regiment, after which the event commenced with a welcome address delivered by Major General K.A.W.N.H. Bandaranayake USP, Colonel of the Regiment of VIR followed by the Keynote speech conducted by Major General SRB Aluvihare(Rtd) RWP RSP ndu psc, former Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and former Colonel of the Regiment of VIR.

The seminar consisted of two technical sessions, during which subject specialists delivered a series of lectures covering a range of military-related topics aimed at enhancing professional knowledge and operational readiness.

During the programme, certificates were awarded to the guest speakers in appreciation of their contributions, and mementos were exchanged to commemorate the occasion. The event concluded with the final remarks of Major General D.K.S.K. Dolage USP nps psc, the Chief of Staff.

Earlier in the day, the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Officers’ Accommodation Complex was held within the VIR premises, marking another significant milestone for the Regiment. After the first session of the seminar the Commander of the Army visited the camp premises including ORs accommodation area.

The Colonel of the Regiment of VIR, along with Senior Officers and Officers of the Regiment, participated in the event.
