INAUGURAL LAUNCHING OF ARCHERS ARCADIA

Marking another milestone of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment history, under the patronage of Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Nishantha Manage, and under the direct supervision and guidance of Centre Commandant Brigadier Prabath Kodithuwakku and Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel Dammika Jayarathne, the inaugural launching of the Archers Arcadia was held on 02 September 2022 at regimental centre premises.

Archers Arcadia is designed to provide a complete day outing experience and consist of several packages to select from. Archers Arcadia activities include Rifle Shooting, Archery, Javelin Throw, Mini Golf, Blow Gun and Catapult. Also the Club House consist of a Mini Bar, Beer Garden and a Buffet stall. Sports activities include Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Tennis, Table Tennis, Squash and Soccer. Moto Cross Riding, Horizontal Rope, Arial Rope, Toddy Rope, 6 foot wall, Coco Climbing, Coco Husk Removing are some of the adventure activities that can be experienced at Archers Arcadia.

Anyone who visiting the Archers Arcadia also can engage in an educational tour consisting of Agro Farm Visit, Coco Production Experience, Yoghurt Process, Bakery Product Experience and Cement Products. Other facilities include Live Music, Live Band, Karaoke, Multimedia Screen, Calypso, AC / NON AC Rooms, Banquet Hall and Conference / Workshop Spaces.

Director General General Staff Sri Lanka Army Headquarters and Colonel of the Regiment of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major General Nishantha Manage was the Chief Guest of this historic occasion andthe Centre Commandant and senior officers of VIR regimental centre also participated for this event. This notable event was organized by adhering all the health guidelines stipulated by the government to prevent COVID – 19 outbreak.
