SCHOOL OF SIGNALS CELEBRATES THE 33RD ANNIVERSARY

School of Signals marked its 33rd anniversary on 12 October 2024 with a series of programmes including an Alms-giving, philanthropic activities and Military formalities.

The programme started with an alms-giving to Maha Sanga led by the chief incumbent of Bhodhirajarama Temple, Boowelikada at the School of Signals premises on 11th October.

Subsequently, on 12th October the programme commenced with a Guard Turnout adhering to military customs followed by the planting of a Mango sapling by the Commandant Colonel MAK Jayawardena psc. Afterwards, a simple ceremony to lay the foundation stone for the newly proposed block to uplift the ablution facilities of the trainees was held near the communication laboratory.

Thereafter, welfare packs with essential food items worth of Rs 7,500 each were donated to the civil servants serving at this institute as a gesture of goodwill. The Commandant then addressed all troops and appreciated their performances during last year and encouraged them to continue in the same manner in the future as well. An all ranks Tea Party was held as the culmination event of the anniversary celebrations.
