The tank bund of Kurisudda Kulam, located at Grid Reference 614018, was damaged by approximately 25 feet due to continuous heavy rainfall. Troops of the 12 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment promptly undertook restoration work to prevent further deterioration.
Under the guidance and direction of Major General S A U A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, and the close supervision of Brigadier D M P U Dissanayaka RSP USP IG, Commander 562 Infantry Brigade, the repair operation was effectively coordinated.
A team of 02×25 troops from 12 (V) VIR, together with 15 villagers, assisted in reinforcing the damaged section by installing sandbags to control the water overflow and stabilize the embankment.
