Under the direction of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, the Reserve Platoon Course (No. 04) was conducted at BTS, Pampaimadu terminated on 27 March 2023. The course was comprised of 10 x platoons (10 Officers and 250 Other Ranks) contributed by the 21, 54, 56, 62, and 65 Infantry Divisions.
The curriculum of the course included lectures and practical sessions on handling GPS, unarmed combat (UC), VIP/VVIP protection, the marksmanship package (handling of weapons with live firing), search and rescue operations, rules of engagement (ROE), special operation procedures, and internal security (IS) duties.
The closing remarks of the course was commenced by the Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Major General Campaka Ranasinghe with the participation of Brigadier General Staff SF HQ (Wanni), Commander 562 Infantry Brigade, Colonel General Staff of 56 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers of respective Battalions which contributed the platoons, and Chief Instructor with all staffs of Battalion Training School Pampeimadu. During the awarding ceremony, the following student officers and other ranks were awarded trophies and all participants were awarded the certificates:

b. Best 8-Man Team: 2nd Section of 4 GR (65 Infantry Division)

e. Best Shooter: S/D 101774 Infantryman Ranathunga R M S I - 14 (V) SLLI
f. Best Physical: S/15E01430 Corporal Rathnayake, W. B. M. S., 15 (V) SLSR
