REVISIT OF THE VETERAN IPKF OFFICERS TO 59 DIVISION AREA OF RESPONSIBLE

In a heartfelt gesture of remembrance, a distinguished group of former Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) officers revisited 59 Division area, Mullaitivu with their families on 16th and 17th November 2024. Among the contingent were present Commandant of Indian Infantry Training School, Mhow, Lieutenant General Gajendra Joshi and former Vice Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Sarath Chand (Retd).

The contingent was warmly welcomed by Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Forces (Wanni) and was graciously hosted receiving the finest hospitality, which further Solidified the deep Respect and camaraderie between the two military communities. Dinner hosted for the Contingent at the 59 Infantry Division Officers’ Mess was filled with Glamorous events which further Solidified ties, with both sides discussing the importance of peace, regional Stability, and mutual respect.

As the visit Concluded, the veterans departed with a deep sense of pride, reinforcing the lasting legacy of peace, Sacrifice, and brotherhood between India and Sri Lanka.
