Army troops of the 10 SLLI provided essential assistance in repairing the partially breached Tuvarankulam Tank bund in the Palinagar area, Vavuniya District, following damage caused by adverse weather conditions.
The restoration effort was carried out under the guidance of the Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major General K M P S B Kulathunga RSP ndc psc, the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General S A U A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc, and the direction of the Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, Coloneral E G C Gunasena RWP RSP psc.
A total of 03 × 50 troops from 10 SLLI were deployed to the site, where they worked alongside local villagers to reinforce the damaged section of the tank bund by installing sandbags. The operation was conducted on 29 November 2025 at 1445 hrs, successfully preventing further deterioration caused by the rising water level.
