A newly constructed house was handed over to deserving family of Mrs. Nirosha Rodrigo in No 71 Lindawewa, Medawachchiya on 19 November 2024. The occasion was graced by Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) as the esteemed chief guest. Major General W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP, General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division and Colonel P M De Silva RSP USP Commander 213 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Other ranks and civilians from the village participated to the event. The Construction of the house was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the troops from the 2 (Volunteer) Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. The project was conducted with coordination of Divisional Secretary Mrs M C Malawiarchchi and sponsorship provided by Mr. Darshana Gunasekara who is presently resided in Australia.
