The Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLASC - SVB), Mrs. Thushari Wanigasekara, recently with her members built a new washroom for a bedridden mother of a woman soldier, residing at Ibbankatuwa, Dambulla.
The Private woman soldier of the 1 SLASC was undergoing a lot of hardship as her mother remained confined to bed due to a serious illness but lack of proper sanitary facilities inside the partly-built house made matters worse.
The Chairperson with her SVB members and officers and other ranks in the 1 SLASC unit collected enough resources and built this new sanitary facility which facilitates her mother. Lieutenant Colonel G. K. V Dharmasena, Commanding Officer of 1 SLASC and his spouse closely supervised and guided the construction of the new washroom with sanitary facilities.
During a simple ceremony, the Chairperson, SLASC -SVB together with Brigadier Mohan Premarathne, Centre Commandant of SLASC, Senior officers, Officers, other ranks, and members of the SLASC- SVB were present at the event.
