Major H M S Herath psc SLE assumed duties as the 16th Commanding Officer of the 9th Field Engineer Regiment on 28 November 2025, at the 9 Field Engineer Regiment, Kokavil, amidst a formal military ceremony.
On arrival, new Commanding Officer was welcomed by Major S A A H Dias RSP SLE, the Second in Command, and was honored with a Guard Turnout, showcasing the Regiment’s deep-rooted military traditions.
Newly appointed Commanding Officer officially signed the documents symbolizing the commencement of his new command.
The ceremony was attended by the Second in Command, all Officers, and Other Ranks of the Regiment. The event marked a significant moment in the Regiment’s history, welcoming new leadership for the future.
