MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA THE COMMANDER OF SRI LANKA ARMY ENGINEER DIVISION WAS INVITED TO BE THE CHIEF GUEST AT THE PREFECTS’ INVESTITURE CEREMONY

Major General Lanka Amarapala, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, was invited to be the Chief Guest at the prefects’ investiture ceremony at St. Thomas’ Catholic International College, Seeduwa on Tuesday (31).

On his arrival at the school, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division was greeted by Rev. Fr. Sudath Gunathilaka, Rector of the college. Next, Major General Lanka Amarapala was escorted to the college hall by the college band.

The prefects' investiture ceremony unfolded with prayers to the almighty god and the lighting of the oil lamp. Next, an iconic chief guest was introduced to the audience, and he was invited to inspire and motivate future leaders of the country with his words. During his speech, Major General Lanka Amarapala did not forget to share some vital leadership traits with newly appointed prefects and express his respect and gratitude to Rev. Fr. Sudath Gunathilaka, Rector of the College, and his staff for organising the glamorous event.

24 stewards, 43 junior prefects, 24 senior prefects, and six head committee members of the prefects of St. Thomas’ Catholic International College received their symbolic laurels during this ceremony. Furthermore, the special day of the STIC calendar was decorated with many aesthetic performances, cheering parents, colourful props, and music on the grounds, which made the whole atmosphere vibrant.

The day’s event concluded with giving away tokens of appreciation to the Chief Guest and singing the national anthem.
