NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT MARKED THE OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE 5TH (VOLUNTEER) MECHANIZED INFANTRY REGIMENT

The Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Major General W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP and the General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, marked the official visit after assuming duties to the 5th (Volunteer) Mechanized Infantry Regiment - 5 (V) MIR on 13 October 2024.

With all military formalities Colonel of the Regiment was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel K A K S Kodituwakku USP with the customery guard turnout. Moreover, he was invited to leave memories by planting a sapling. During the visit Colonel of the Regiment addressed the troops of the battalion and emphasised the significance of a Mechanized Infantry soldier and how he should develop his skills and thoughts as a professional soldier in the contemporary environment. Throughout the camp visit, Colonel of the Regiment inquired both operational and administrative matters relevant to the battalion.

The Centre Commandant of Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre - Brigadier A K Peiris RSP and Commander Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier H A A N C Prabhath RSP USP along with other Staff Officers of Mechanized Infantry Regimental Centre were taken part with Colonel of the Regiment.
