DONATION OF PROSTHETIC LEGS FOR THE SOLDIERS WHO LOST THEIR LEGS DURING THE WAR

Forty numbers of wounded gallant war heroes, who were immensely contributed to wipeout the brutal LTTE from Sri Lanka were rewarded to appreciate their voluntary dedication by the public donors.

Thus, 40 prosthetic legs worth of Rs. 4450000/= were distributed among the disable members at auditorium complex in Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Light Infantry on Saturday 07 May 2022. The donation programme was organized by the Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment and Regimental Headquarter Battalion with the gracious presence of Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu and Mrs. Shiromala Kodithuwakku the President of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Seva Vanitha Branch. The donors Mr. Palinda Samarasinghe and his bellowed spouse were hosted the said programme as they donated 26, 29 and 65 prosthetic legs in year 2018, 2019 and 2020 respectively.
