The Inter-Regiment Karate Tournament 2025 was successfully conducted on 10th, 11th, and 12th December 2025 at Panagoda, with the participation of skilled karate exponents representing various regiments of the Sri Lanka Army.
Demonstrating exceptional discipline, skill, and fighting spirit, the players of the Gemunu Watch delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, achieving remarkable success across multiple events.
In the Novices Competition, the Gemunu Watch karate team dominated the arena with an impressive medal tally. The team secured 01 x Gold Medal and 01 x Bronze Medal in the Kata event, along with 02 x Gold Medals in the Team Kata event.
Further showcasing their combat proficiency, the Highlanders won 02 x Silver Medals and 02 x Bronze Medals in the Kumite event. Accumulating a total of 21 points, the Gemunu Watch karate team emerged as Overall Winners of the Novices Competition.
In addition, under the Championship Competition, the Highlanders continued their commendable performance by securing 01 x Silver Medal and 01 x Bronze Medal, further elevating the team’s standing in the tournament.
In recognition of these collective achievements, the Gemunu Watch Karate Team secured an impressive Runners-Up Overall position at the Inter-Regiment Karate Tournament 2025, bringing great honour and pride to the Regiment.
This achievement stands as a testament to the dedication, rigorous training, and indomitable spirit of the Highlanders, reflecting the enduring values and martial excellence of the Gemunu Watch.
