COLONEL OF THE REGIMENT VISITS FLOOD-AFFECTED HOME OF CORPORAL CHATURANGA GAR AND INITIATES REBUILDING EFFORTS

During an official field visit, the Colonel of the Regiment, The Gemunu Watch, and the General Officer Commanding 58 Infantry Division, Major General AMA Abeywardana WWV RWP RSP ndc, visited the residence of S/10F02176 Corporal Chaturanga GAR, belonging to 10 (V) Battalion The Gemunu Watch in Rambepitiya, Mugunuwatawana, Chilaw, which had been severely damaged during the recent flooding.

Recognizing the hardship faced by the soldier and his family, the Colonel of the Regiment promptly directed the Regimental Centre, The Gemunu Watch, to provide the necessary troops and assistance to support the reconstruction of the damaged house.

In accordance with these instructions, teams from the Regimental Centre were immediately deployed to rebuild and restore the residence, ensuring timely relief and support to Corporal Chaturanga GAR during this challenging period.

This initiative reflects the Regiment’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its soldiers and further strengthens the bond of unity and compassion within the Gemunu Watch family.
