On 23 November 2025 Heavy rains experienced within the Area of Responsibility of the 3 (V) Gemunu Watch caused several trees to fall across the Gin River in the general area of Ihalagama, obstructing water flow and posing potential risks to nearby communities.
Troops from 3(V) Gemunu Watch was swiftly deployed to the location. Working in coordination with local civilians, the troops successfully removed the fallen trees and cleared the affected section of the river.
The prompt response and collaborative effort helped mitigate further hazards and ensured the continuous flow of the river, reflecting the Army’s ongoing commitment to public safety and disaster response in the region.
