On 8 February 2025, In a significant demonstration of military tradition and camaraderie, the Gemunu Watch Regiment held a Felicitation Ceremony to honor the recent promotion of Major General KMN Kulasekara RWP RSP psc. The prestigious event was conducted under the guidance of Major General W B J K Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment the Gemunu Watch.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from the Centre Commandant the Gemunu Watch, who greeted Major General Kulasekara on behalf of all ranks within the regiment. The day began with a ceremonial 'Guard Turnout,' a traditional display showcasing the regiment’s discipline and pride, followed by a formal 'Guard of Honour' at the Parade Square, ceremonially acknowledging Major General Kulasekara's achievement.
