A heartfelt farewell ceremony for Brigadier AD Rodrigo RWP RSP psc, the outgoing Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch, was held over two days, On 28th and 29th March 2025 at the regimental center The Gemunu Watch to honoring his exemplary service and leadership.
The ceremony began with Colonel WWKMN Wikramasinghe RWP RSP, the Deputy Centre Commandant, extending a warm welcome to Brigadier Rodrigo, who was in voted to review the Guard Turnout at the entrance of the Centre. This formal gesture set the tone for a day of appreciation and reflection.
During his address to the officers and other ranks, Brigadier Rodrigo expressed his sincere gratitude for the unwavering support he received throughout his tenure. He acknowledged the contributions of all personnel, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and expediting ongoing projects within the Regiment. His words resonated deeply, reflecting the strong bond he formed with his team.
The formal event continued with an All-Ranks Tea at the swimming pool area, where officers and other ranks expressed their heartfelt thanks to the outgoing commandant for his dedication and commitment to the Regimental Centre.
The farewell events culminated in a distinguished dinner at the Officers’ Mess, where Brigadier Rodrigo was presented with a special memento by Major General WBJK Wimalaratne RWP RSP, the Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment of the Gemunu Watch. This gesture marked the appreciation of Brigadier Rodrigo’s dedicated service and commitment to the Regiment.
