On 15 March 2025 The newly constructed Officers’ Living/In Accommodation, named “Green Rest,” was officially inaugurated at the Regimental Centre of The Gemunu Watch by Major General W.B.J.K. Wimalaratne RWP RSP, the Director General Infantry and Colonel of the Regiment.
The “Green Rest” complex, designed and built by the diligent troops of The Gemunu Watch alongside the Engineer Service Regiment, was developed under the direct supervision of Major General Wimalaratne. This much-anticipated facility fulfills a long-felt requirement for improved accommodations for officers within the regiment.
The new accommodation building features 10 fully furnished rooms, each equipped with attached bathrooms, creating a comfortable living environment for the officers.
The opening ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the Colonel of the Regiment, Centre Commandant, council members, staff officers, and other ranks from the Regimental Centre of The Gemunu Watch, all of whom celebrated this significant addition to their facilities.
