In a significant enhancement to the facilities at The Gemunu Watch, the newly constructed dining hall and renovated WO's & SGT's mess building were officially inaugurated and opening ceremony, held on November 13, 2024, was graced by Chief Guest Major General SWB Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc, who commended the efforts in creating a modern and functional space for the troops.
The event was attended by Center Commandant Brigadier HCL Galappathti RSP USP, along with senior officers from the regimental council and staff officers of the regimental Centre. The WO's & SGT's new dining hall is set to provide improved dining experiences for the personnel, while the renovated mess building aims to foster camaraderie and community among the ranks.
Major General Welagedara expressed his pride in the advancements made within the regiment, emphasizing the importance of such facilities in boosting morale and ensuring the well-being of the soldiers. The ceremony concluded with a tour of the new facilities, showcasing the commitment to the welfare of the troops at The Gemunu Watch.
