The Highlanders Badminton Team delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 Army Novices Badminton Championships, with Infantryman Wimukthi Y.G. of the 14thBattalion, The Gemunu Watch, emerging as the Men’s Singles Runner-Up.
Competing among more than 120 players representing all regiments, Infantryman Wimukthi showcased exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, earning a remarkable position in the finals. His outstanding performance brought pride to both the Highlanders team and the Gemunu Watch Regiment.
This achievement highlights the growing talent within the inter-regiment competitions and reflects the Regiment’s continued commitment to excellence in both sports and military discipline.
