THE GEMUNU WATCH FIRING TEAM RECORDS OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES AT ARMY INTER-REGIMENT COMBAT MEET 2025

The Gemunu Watch Firing Team delivered commendable performances at the Army Inter-Regiment Combat Meet 2025, held at the 1000m Range, Diyatalawa, bringing pride and honour to the regiment through remarkable team spirit and individual achievements.

In the team events, the Gemunu Watch secured the 3rd Place in the Open Teams category and the 2nd Place in the Novices Teams category, reflecting the regiment’s high standards of training and operational excellence.

Individual Achievements - Open Category

Several Officers and Other Ranks excelled in the Open category:

Maj EA Edirisinghe RWP RSP psc - Second Place (23 GW)

Maj HADA Hapuarachchi - First Place (11 GW)

WO I WPN Dammika - Second Place (6 GW)

L/Cpl Gunarathna UIM - Second Place (7 GW)

Individual Achievements - Novices Category

Outstanding performances were also recorded in the Novices category:

Awarding Ceremony

The Certificate and Trophy Awarding Ceremony of the Army Inter-Regiment Combat Meet 2025 was held on 22 December 2025 at the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Sino-Lanka Friendship Auditorium.

The event was graced by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG as the Chief Guest.

The GOC 58 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment, Major General AMA Abeyawardana WWV RWP RSP ndc, the GOC 57 Infantry Division Maj Gen KMV Kodithuwaku ndu, the Centre Commandant of Regimental Centre The Gemunu Watch, Brigadier KMN Dikkumbura RSP, the Commandant SLARTC DLA Lt Col RMTN Rathnayake RSP along with the Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and many senior officers of the Sri Lanka Army attended the ceremony.

The achievements at this prestigious combat meet once again reaffirmed the Gemunu Watch as a regiment of excellence, maintaining a proud tradition of precision, discipline, and superior marksmanship.
