The Gemunu Watch Regimental Centre proudly hosted the farewell ceremony of Brigadier TCL Ganepola RWP RSP psc on 7th February 2026, marking a momentous occasion that honoured his distinguished service and unwavering commitment to the Regiment.
The day commenced with the formal reception of the Chief Guest, who was respectfully invited to review the Guard Turnout at the entrance - a time-honoured tradition symbolising military precision, discipline, and respect. Thereafter, the ceremony proceeded to the Monument, where a solemn commemoration was held in honour of the fallen war heroes, paying deep tribute to the brave Highlanders who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
A key highlight of the event was the Ceremonial Parade of Honour, proudly presented at the Regimental Parade Square. The parade reflected the enduring traditions, discipline, and pride of the soldiers of the Gemunu Watch. To mark this significant occasion, group photographs were taken, symbolising unity, respect, and collective gratitude.
All Officers and Other Ranks of the Gemunu Watch joined in expressing their heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing Highlander for his exemplary leadership, loyalty, and dedicated service to the Regiment. Warm wishes were extended for a future blessed with good health, prosperity, peace, and enduring happiness.
