Due to adverse wind conditions, several trees were found dangerously leaning onto the roadway at the 51 Junction near the Deniyaya Police Station, posing a risk to commuters and nearby residents.
In response to that 00 × 08 team of troops was promptly deployed to the location. The operation was carried out with the support of the Disaster Management Centre - Matara Unit and the Pradeshiya Sabha, Kotapola, ensuring the safe removal of the leaning trees and the restoration of normal road conditions.
The timely action of the Gemunu Watch troops helped prevent potential hazards and ensured the safety of the public during unstable weather conditions.
