26TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF THE GEMUNU WATCH SEVA VANITHA BRANCH

The 26th Annual General Meeting of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha (GWSV) Branch was held on 23rd February 2025, at the Regimental Headquarters of SLLI, Panagoda, with the participation of the President, Executive Board Members, Senior Members, and general members.

The meeting was chaired by Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalarathne, President of the GWSV Branch, and began with traditional proceedings. Following this, a documentary was shown, highlighting the services rendered by the GWSV Branch.

In her address, the President elaborated on the future projects planned for the GWSV Branch. Mrs. Lekha Rodrigo, Deputy Secretary of the GWSV Branch, presented the minutes of the previous meeting, while Mrs. Ganga Kulathunga, the Treasurer, presented the audit report.

The President further addressed the members, emphasizing the vital role of army soldiers' wives in supporting the army community. Additionally, Prof. M Thilakasiri conducted a lecture on the dynamics of marital relationships, focusing on the roles of husband and wife.

The meeting concluded with refreshments and a cordial interaction between the President and the members. The Army dancing team and the Gemunu Band added vibrancy and color to the occasion.

After the conclusion of the recent general meeting, a special gathering was held at the RHQ SLLI Officers Mess, bringing together past and present members of the organization. The event was honored by the presence of Mrs. Sujeewa Jayasekara, who served as the esteemed guest of honor.

Invitations were extended to past Presidents and Vice Presidents, fostering a spirit of unity and reminiscence among the members. The gathering provided an opportunity for attendees to reconnect and share experiences, strengthening the bonds within the community.

A delightful lunch was hosted at the mess premises, where guests enjoyed a delicious meal and engaging conversations. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and camaraderie, as everyone took the time to celebrate their shared history and achievements.
