As an integral component of the Logistics Staff Course (LSC) curriculum, Student Officers embark on local visits to strategic locations and institutions. These excursions are designed to broaden their exposure and provide first-hand insights into the impacts, prospects, and core activities of various logistics operations. On 03 June 2024, the Student Officers of LSC No 10 had the privilege of visiting the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy (AFA) in China Bay, Trincomalee. This visit offered a unique opportunity to delve deep into the logistics and strategic operations of the Air Force Academy.
The delegation consisted of the Chief Instructor, Senior Instructor Training Team 1, Directing Staff and Student Officers of the Logistics Staff Course No 10. The core objectives of this visit is to provide the opportunity for the Student Officers to enrich their knowledge of Procurement and Material Management, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management and Issue Procedure in line with the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The ASL delegation was warmly welcomed by the Deputy Commandant, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy Group Captain KADAC Kuruwita WV, WWV, RSP, USP, MMS (Mil Com), BSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc, qhi followed by presentations on Logistics Structure and operational functions of the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, EPAS Procedures (Equipment Provisions Acquisition System), role and task of the Flight Training Wing and SLAF Logistics Management System. During the second session of this visit the ASL delegation had the unique opportunity to observe the Flying Training Wing, Equipment Section, Fuel Section.
Air Force Academy rendered warm welcome, highest hospitality and the visit came to a climax with a presentation of a memento by the ASL delegation as a token of appreciation to the Commandant of SLAFA.
