THE VESAK FULL MOON POYA DAY CELEBRATIONS AT ARMY SCHOOL OF LOGISTICS

Army School of Logistics held Vesak Full Moon Poya Day celebrations and religious observances for the year 2025, in grand scale. Under the guidance of the Commandant R T LokuthotahewaUSP psc, the twenty-eightsacred peripheral Buddha statues have been placed in the shrines at the worshiping area of the Army School. The twenty-eight sacred peripheral Buddha statues offered by venerable SaddhatissaThero of Aluthoya and venerable GnakiththiThero of Trincomalee with the generosity of the civil donors of the area were carried up to the worshipping area of the camp in a grand procession attended by the permanent staff, traditional dancing troops of military and civil organizations surrounded by the well-wishers adding colour and glamour to the event. The procession was followed by religious offerings, religios observances, sermons and pirith chanting followed by refreshments.

Later in the day, “Vesak Dansala” organized by the permanent staff of the Army School of Logistics was held at the entrance of the camp premises, distributing free food for the friendly folks of the area who strolled through the streets witnessing the Vesak Day celebrations.
