The Quartermasters Commissioning Course No. 07 organized a cricket tournament as a part of the course curriculum under the guidance of the Training Wing, Army School of Logistics. Four teams representing each platoon of the Quartermaster Commissioning Course No 07 and a team representing the permanent staff battled in a series of 10 matches to qualify for the finals.
The finals of the cricket tournament held between the teams of permanent staff of Army School of Logistics and the First Platoon of the Quartermasters Commissioning Course No. 07 on 15 March 2025 at the school cricket ground. The Commandant of Army School of Logistics, Brigadier R T Lokuthotahewa USP psc graced the event. After winning the toss, the Permanent Staff Team of the Army School of Logistics decided to ball first. At the end of the 10 overs the First Platoon’s Team of the Quarter Masters Commissioning Course No. 07 set a target of 103 runs for 08 wickets. However, the Permanent Staff Team scored 96 runs for 09 wickets at the end of the ten overs, leaving the trophy for the Quartermasters Commissioning Course No. 07.
WO1 D M Lalith Kumara received the trophy for the champions of the tournament from the Commandant of Army School of Logistics. Captain KDDM Kankanage crowned as the player of the tournament and the best baller of the finals. WO1 DM Lalith Kumara was named as the man of the match and the best batsman of the finals. WO 1 DMS Ranasinghe was awarded with the best fielder.
It had been an enjoyable evening that uplifted the spirits of sports in both student Quartermasters and the permanent staff.
