THE NAVAL AND MARITIME ACADEMY VISIT OF LOGISTICS STAFF COURSE NO 10

A delegation of ASL, comprising Student Officers following the Logistics Staff Course No 10 and Members of the Faculty led by the Senior Instructor Training Team 1 visited Naval and Maritime Academy ( NMA ), Trincomalee on 03 October 2024.

This visit was organized as a part of the course curriculum of the Logistics Staff Course with a prime objective to experience the diverse logistics systems which are implementing in sister services. Moreover, this visit has given an impressive opportunity to enhance the comparative knowledge of Student Officers on the field of logistics in the Naval background.

The delegation of ASL was warmly welcomed by the Senior Navy Officers followed by a briefing on the history and the role of the Academy. During the visit Student Officers visited several Training Schools at the NMA, the Commodore Superintendent Logistics Department (CSLOGD) (E) complex and briefings were conducted on Naval Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS), Procurement Management, Warehouse Management, Material Management and Issuing Procedures that provided a plenty of information on Naval Logistics Operations.

As the major elements of the visit, they were given an exceptional opportunity to visit one of the significant coast guard naval ship "Suraksha" Moreover, the afternoon session was comprised with a boat ride in the eastern sea and a delicious lunch at the Officers' Mess.

The occasion was marked with an exchange of mementoes between the Senior Instructor ASL Lt Col AMRHB Abeysinghe USP AATO Lsc SLAOC and the Training Captain of the Naval and Maritime Academy Captain(N) SD Paranagama RSP & Bar, USP, psc, MSc (MS & MC).
